PROJECT INFORMATION
54,000 SQUARE FEET OF RENOVATION
LOCATION: NEWARK, DELAWARE
OWNER: UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
COMPLETION STATUS: UNBUILT
The University of Delaware hired us to redesign the entire first floor of their library. We reorganized the layout to be centralized around the students and experiences: opening up the space to house computer areas, collaboration areas, and a sizeable customer service hub. CDG's key design phrase was "high tech, soft touch;" this signified a sophisticated modern design that still held warmth through materials, such as wood and carpeting.
This proposal included sketches for a new exterior entrance to the Morris Library. As the existing exterior is very 1970's Kahn-esque, we chose concrete and glass to complement it.
